My favorite quote from Terence he made to me in Oregon when I asked him if he thought the universe is alive. He said, β€œyes, I believe the universe is alive because I read the philosopher Alfred North Whitehead.”

Terence was a great thinker, scholar, and humanitarian. He was also one of the finest speakers I've ever heard. Someone named Danit Friedman has a wonderful collection of his talks on YouTube.

My all-time favourite quote from the legend was when he was discussing his novelty theory in the second to last video you posted and talks about the eschaton: "I think it's going to get weirder and weirder and weirder and finally it'll get so weird that we're going to have to talk about it"

Thank you for this post. I love McKenna's mind. I'm having an emotional head-meets-wall i'm all alone kind of a day and reading his quotes just brings me back to myself. Its medicine. God, sometimes all I need to hear/read is something that makes sense, (and after trying to figure out how to work my phone and computer for two hours jeezuz).

Some of those quotes are really wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I’ve never heard of him but I will explore further. However, the whole idea of making memes confuses me. Why is a snippet of an idea interesting? It seems to me that memes are robbing humanity of the ability to dive deeply into anything. To me, memes are just a way to get more likes on socials and therefore a tool of capitalist, individualist coercion and a very unappealing aspect of our current landscape of consumption. Help

me understand!
