Thank you, James. This line ‘When we hide ourselves for fear of being disliked, we cut ourselves off from the possibility of being loved’ really felt powerful. It shows the stakes, in a way. We think we’re protecting ourselves by hiding, but we end up missing out on the very thing we want.

'This is not without risk. Not everyone will understand or appreciate your inner world, just as you can’t be friends or lovers with everyone you meet. Nobody is for everybody, and that’s okay. '

So why doing it? Why exposing our most intimate reality to everyone, rather than keeping it safe and shared only with a select few? Couldn't an artist paint life, with words, music or paints, without putting the spotlight on themselves?
